The market was a bit thin today since it is still early in the local produce season, but we did manage to pick up some AMAZING strawberries and raspberries along with some fresh bread. There is just something so delicious about a home grown local strawberry that even the best grocery store strawberries cannot come close to matching.
But my favorite part about the market is the tradition that we started last year just after we moved. After we're done with our shopping we pick up a small Italian ice, sit in the grass alongside the parking lot, and share our treat.

Of course we had to drink the last few drops that melted.

The aftermath...red lips and red spots all over his shirt. Totally worth the mess because these are memories that I know I'll cherish for a lifetime, and I can only hope that Caleb does too.

We had so much fun, and I look forward to continuing our weekly dates this summer.
