Caleb let us sleep in until 6:45am...a welcome feeling over the past three days when he's been up before. I went in to find my little man in a much happier mood than he's been in lately. We started the day by reading, "Are You My Mother" three times in a row. Then Andrew brought in my gift...

It is a picture from the book "Llama, Llama Red Pajama" that was hand drawn by my amazing husband, then he allowed Caleb to "color" on it before he went back in to clean things up and make it recognizable. This is currently one of Caleb's favorite books {He calls it "Llama Jama" hence the wording on the image.} for me to read to him making this
After we all got dressed, we took a walk to the store as a family to pick up doughnuts for breakfast {per my request from a few days ago}. Following breakfast we headed out to buy flowers for the flower beds Andrew and I assembled earlier this weekend. And we returned home to plant them. I know, I know...manual labor on Mother's Day? But it was really something that I wanted to get done before the scorching heat hits. And I wanted to see the finished project. I don't like having things hanging out half finished. So, it was my choice. Check out the flowers in the pictures below.
Caleb took a nice long 3.5 hour nap during which I commandeered the TV from Andrew to catch up on all the shows on DVR that I had been collecting over the past few weeks. Ahh...I can't tell you how nice it was to have control over the remote!
After nap we did our traditional after nap activity of hanging out in our pool on the patio. I tried to have Andrew take a picture of Caleb and I, but you know what happens when a toddler doesn't want to have his picture taken...
This is as good as it got
Then we headed to my in laws for an amazing homemade {by Pop Pop} dinner of Italian meatballs, ravioli, bread, and the apple pie that I brought for dessert. And now I can't move without wishing that I had stopped eating a little sooner.
I couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate being Caleb's mommy. I'm so blessed and happy with our little family of three.

Love the flower bed Becki! Looks great. And the pool is pretty sweet too! I love that you actually get in it with him in your suit! You rock mama.
