D and Matt arrived on Saturday morning, and we headed out to the Duquesne Incline while Andrew went shopping for a new suit. No surprise here, Caleb just loves the "up down railroad," and with it's $2.00 per direction fare it's a relatively cheap outing. We rode up from the bottom, took some pics at the top, and then headed back down.
Afterward, Uncle Matt asked if we could go check out Point State Park, and since none of us had ever been there, we plugged it into the GPS and headed across the river. Caleb had a blast running around in the huge grassy area and playing with the leaves. This kid was apparently meant to live in a green place. He gets so excited to see grass, and immediately takes off in its direction anytime he sees it.
After that it was time for C's lunch and nap, so we headed home. Afternoons are usually lazy in our house and Saturday was no different. We built a blanket tent in the living room, and C used his new Thomas the Train projector (a gift from Aunt Dani and Uncle Matt) to watch some Thomas slides projected on the back of one of the chairs used for structural support in the tent. Dual functioning chair!
After Caleb went to bed, the adults made some AMAZING smore brownies, had some adult beverages, played board games, and had a lot of laughs. Sounds lame for a bunch of 20-30 somethings, but we had a great time. I've really missed being able to share times like this with my sister since we've been living so far apart for most of our adult lives, so this was a great visit - the first of many!
Sunday we took advantage of the Steelers playing a Monday night game, and headed downtown again to check out Heinz Field and the surrounding area. There is a great little park area right along the river there including a huge statue of Mr. Rogers.
Again, C had a blast running around in the grass and climbing on the statues of Mr. Rogers and Art Rooney.
