Fourth of July Mini Vacation

Last weekend we packed up and flew halfway across the country to visit my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew. We were a little (ok, a lot) worried about how Caleb would do with the three hour flight now that all he wants to do is crawl or walk everywhere, but he was a perfect angel on both the flight there and the flight back. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for his sleep patterns while we were there. Needless to say, it wasn't much of a vacation for me as I was up with him half the night for three nights in a row. However, I'm pleased to announce that now that we're back home he's sleeping "like a baby" (whatever that means).

On Friday we headed to the Butterfly House where it was EXTREMELY humid, but very cool getting to see all sorts of different butterflies up close.

After the Butterfly House, we headed to the playground located in the same park where Caleb enjoyed some more slide time.

That night was my BIL's birthday, so we celebrated with cake and took some pictures of the boys in their day-before-July 4th attire. Here's Nick being a ham for the camera

And Caleb giving the big eyes

And a few of the two of them together. This was the best we could do.

Daddy and Caleb

On Saturday, Caleb and Nick really enjoyed playing "together." Well, I'm not so sure that Nick enjoyed it when Caleb played with his toys, but he did have fun making Caleb laugh by playing peek-a-boo or chasing him around the house!

We had a great time, but as usual the visit was way too short! Thanks Katy, Pat, and Nick for being such great hosts. We miss you!
