Arizona Museum for Youth

Yesterday Caleb and I met up with our friends at the Arizona Museum for Youth in Mesa.

It was my first time there, and I have to say that we had a blast. The babies all loved it. These pictures mostly show the small baby area where they have soft surfaces for the babies to roll and crawl around, but the area that surrounds this (as you can see in some of the pictures) is for kids all the way up to 4 years. My mommy friends are all talking about doing a membership to this place as I'm sure the kids will only start enjoying it more and more in the coming months as they become more mobile.

Great face on Caleb, not so great hair on me.

Inch by Inch

So, our cat is apparently pretty good motivation for C to try and move forward with the "crawl," but most of the time he's still manages to inch his way backward. Here's another cell phone video of him attempting to move forward. (You'd never know that we actually have a really GREAT video camera! **NOTE TO SELF: Clear off the expensive camera and show the blog world the great videos that it can take!)

Awesome Mom

Here's a great poem that I received in an email forward from a friend:

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom...

Your Three Words

I got this idea from a fellow blogger who got the idea from the "Your Three Words" campaign at ABC News. This just happens to be the same amazing blogger who designed the fabulous baseball themed background that now graces my blog.

Anyway, I love the "Your Three Words" idea and am going to start making my own weekly "Y3W" posts on Fridays. Here's the first one:
