Y3W | Anniversary Edition

On this day five years ago, I married my best friend. So much to celebrate this year. Last year I wrote this post, and it is so awesome to reflect on that day and see how things have changed in the past year. Today, we both took the day off from work and spent time shopping for and fixing up our new house. It may sound lame, but it was a perfect way to spend the day! I guess getting the hardwood floors refinished in our new house was our gift to each other on this our "wooden" anniversary.

First, the one I should have posted last week.

Got Caleb some new creek shoes at Walmart the other day. The temperature has been getting into the 80s this past week, so I figure we'll be in the creek by Memorial Day! My boy's gonna love summer!

On to this week.

Friday morning we closed on OUR FIRST HOUSE! Ok, fine, Andrew was a homeowner before, but this is my first time and therefore OUR first time! We're locked into our apartment lease until July, so we're planning to take our time to do some updates and painting before we move in. We should be in by mid-June, and I'll be sure to post before and after pics when we do!

And finally!

After our closing on Friday I drove to DC to see my sister graduate with her Master's degree from George Washington University! So pround of you, D!!

Question: How do you know when you have too many family birthdays and anniversaries over a two month period?

Answer: When your 2.5 year old makes up a new game involving "wrapping" toys in random pieces of paper (i.e. instructions for his Tag Jr.) and giving them to you as gifts. Repeating this activity keeps him entertained for at least an hour.
