And The Winner Is...

Commenter #3, Lesli. "Oh I love your work!!! I'd love some type of hockey related t-shirt for Keaton."

I'm very excited to discuss hockey designs and to get started on something for Keaton! This will be the debut of my work in PA. I'll be in touch soon, so we can get to work.

Thanks to everyone who commented, and for the birthday wishes. If you're still interested in a shirt or pillowcase dress for your little one, feel free to contact me. I'm selling to family and friends for $10 {I'm too chicken to start a shop on etsy}.

29 and Holding

When asked her age, my grandmother {Memaw the First} used to say, "29 and holding." Today I'm celebrating my very first 29th birthday. In honor of my Memaw, I plan to be "29 and holding" for as long as I can get away with it. I really think that it's a good philosophy that reminds us no matter how old we get, what is important is how you feel - not the number on the calendar.

Andrew asked me for about a month what I wanted for my birthday, and I finally told him on Sunday that I wanted a Cricut machine to help me with cutting fabric for all my projects. I just hadn't verified that it could cut fabric until...well, Sunday. I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail, so I can start some new projects.

Inspired by my friend, Erin, I have decided to do a giveaway for my birthday. Leave a comment by Friday, April 16th telling me which one of the following projects you'd be interested in, and I'll randomly select a winner on Saturday, the 17th.

1) Appliqued tee shirts/onesie. Below are a few examples, but if you win you can pick a design of your choice {provided it isn't too complex}.

I'm also planning to do a "Smart" or "Tough" cookie shirt with a picture of a cookie.

When I get time, I'm going to be working on Periodic Table inspired shirts. For example:

Some other options include "CuTe," "BRaInY," "AsU," or some other combination of periodic table abbreviations.

2) Pillowcase dress - again, below are two examples. If you pick this, please let me know your favorite color combination.

3) Project of your choice. I'm not a whiz at this by any means, but I do like trying new things. If I don't think I'll be able to do it, we'll try something else.

Here are all my crafting posts.

It Was An Accident...Wasn't It?

I had to work late tonight, but Andrew always keeps me informed of what is going on at home with Caleb. Definitely puts a smile on my face when I get to take a break for something like this.

Step 1: Dump out bowl of cheerios.
Step 2: Shout out , "Ohhhh Nooo" over and over...cuz you know, it was an "accident."
Step 3: No one's helping? Ok, I'll clean it up.

My sister finally sent me some of the family pictures that were taken of the three of us at her wedding...in December. I really liked some of them, and am amazed that the photographer was able to get some great shots of all three of us given that Caleb was in meltdown mode minutes earlier. Does anyone else think that it looks like Andrew and I won an award {with the gold background and tuxedos...see what I mean here, here, here and here}. Not saying we look like movie stars, but something about the setting of this picture reminds me of the Oscars. Except instead of winning an Oscar, we won a Caleb.

I'm Gonna Miss This

A few nights ago, my father-in-law had us over for his famous {in our family anyway} Italian meal. He made extras so that we'd have plenty of leftovers to enjoy over the next three weeks while he was out of town. I swear I could eat this meal several times each week. It is so delicious! Caleb loves it too. After dinner, I looked over and saw this face...

...covered in pasta sauce, and oh so happy! How can you not be happy when you see that face? I immediately considered taking a picture, but I've taken a picture of the "messy face" so many times. Why did I need another one? Then it dawned on me. Soon, Caleb will be able to eat without getting food all over his face, hands, hair, pants...the floor. As annoying as it is to clean the floor every night, I know I'm Gonna Miss This. I'm not always going to be able to see this little face smeared with pasta sauce and strawberry juice. Then I realized that I need to take as many pictures of this {and every other seemingly insignificant event} as possible while I still can because I know these days are numbered. It won't be like this for long.

You Decide

I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I'm kind of glad that I waited. We don't have many baby pictures of Andrew and I in our house, but the ones we do have seem to be of us at ages near Caleb's current age. So, who does he look like? You decide. Please leave a comment, because I would love to hear what everyone thinks. I'll save my opinion for after I get some comments.

Left to Right: Me, Caleb, Andrew. Obviously Caleb has my hair as opposed to Andrew's thick mane.
